How Cash App fees work

Cash App charges businesses to receive payments, and lets eligible sole proprietors get paid on a personal account for free:

  • Business account, paid from a customer's Cash App: 2.6% + $0.15. On $50 you keep $48.55.
  • Business account, Tap to Pay: 3%. On $100 you keep $97.00.
  • Personal account, goods and services (pilot): no fee for eligible sole proprietors.

The business rates come from Cash App's business fees page. Cash App deducts the fee before the money reaches your balance, and you can see it on each payment in the Activity tab.

The personal account pilot

On September 10, 2026, Cash App started a pilot that lets eligible sole proprietors accept goods and services payments on their personal account, with no separate business account and no fees. The Terms of Service say Cash App does "not currently charge fees in connection with the receipt of Earnings Transactions" but may add them with reasonable advance notice.

Getting your money out

Standard transfers to your bank are free and usually take 1–3 business days. Instant transfers to a linked debit card cost 0.5%–2.5%, with a minimum of $0.25–$1 and a maximum of $75. Cash App shows the exact fee before you confirm, so it isn't included in the calculator.

How to pay less on Cash App

  • Check whether you qualify for the pilot. If you do, goods and services payments to your personal account carry no fee.
  • Have customers pay from Cash App rather than Tap to Pay. On a $100 payment, that is $2.75 instead of $3.00.
  • Use standard transfers. They are free.
